Reducing the Risk of SIDS - Sleep Safety For Babies

The largest known cause of death in children under the age of one is known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome or SIDS. SIDS occur while the baby is sleeping and most parents are terrified about it happening. No one really knows what the reason is as to why some children are affected while others aren't. There's also no known cure for SIDS. The simple fact of the matter is that there are over 2,500 babies dying in the US each and every year from it. The number of deaths have been lowered by 40% by taking preventative approaches and by including sleeping safety methods for babies. These preventative measures are safe guarding the children from SIDS, but unfortunately there is no known way to fully avoid the occurrence of SIDS.
