Think of Your Baby As a Foreign Language Learner

Every baby is faced with the challenge of "cracking the code" of language. This involves hearing the language, beginning to figure out the "bits" of language, and beginning to recognize word boundaries. Then she has to learn grammar rules and social uses for language. This is no small task for your little one. But she is wired to do it, and she has already begun tackling this while still developing in the womb. Parents can help by making use of techniques good foreign language teachers use.
